VERZENIOMD (abemaciclib) (tablets) is a CDK4/6 inhibitor indicated for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive (HR-positive), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-negative) advanced or metastatic breast cancer:
- in combination with an aromatase inhibitor in postmenopausal women, as initial endocrine therapy;
- in combination with fulvestrant in women when the disease progresses following endocrine therapy. Premenopausal or perimenopausal women should also be treated with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist.
- as monotherapy in women when the disease has progressed following endocrine therapy and at least two prior chemotherapy regimens, including at least one taxane-based regimen. In addition, at least one of these chemotherapy regimens must have been administered in a metastatic setting.
